Rejection Criteria for Furniture Package Provided by Modulus
Testing Labs
Merchandised that is tested using the ISTA Procedure 1A series test must meet the following criteria to be deemed a successful test and receive a PASS rating.
Carton:
Minor corner damages and indentations are acceptable
If any component of the merchandise punctures the carton and is no longer contained within the carton the test will result in a Failure
If the carton splits on any seam the test will result in a Failure
Interior Packaging:
If styroform is used and any sheet or corner protector is cracked the test will result in a Failure
If styroform or corrugate is used and is crushed by more than 1/3 of it's original thickness the test will result in a Failure
If the polyurethane or corrugate wrap is torn or punctures and results in product damage the test will result in a Failure
Merchandise:
If the product has any indentations or gouges the test will result in a Failure
If the product has corner damage or splits in the wood the test will result in a Failure
If the surface of the product has sustained abrasion damage due to insufficient protection the test will result in a Failure
If the parts become loose in the carton the test will result in a Failure
If there is minor surface damage that can be corrected with minor packaging improvements, the test results will be reviewed and a joint decision by the lab and us will determine if we can accept or reject the product
